Teresa leads Vertafore’s finance organization in driving excellence in our planning, processes, and systems. In this role, she also has responsibilities for strategy and corporate development.  

Prior to Vertafore, Teresa was a senior executive at White Mountains Insurance Group, a publicly traded insurance holding company, where she was responsible for M&A, corporate development, and portfolio oversight.  Before that, Teresa was a private equity investor at Permira Advisors, focusing on global technology and consumer investments and at Nautic Partners, focusing on middle-market media and business services investments. She started her career as an investment banker at Credit Suisse.  

Teresa is also a board member at Kinsale Capital Group, a specialty insurance company focused on the U.S. E&S market.

What do you love most about your role at Vertafore? 

I love collaborating cross-functionally with so many exceptional team members. The finance team is fortunate to support both day-to-day and long-term decision making across the organization, making each day multifaceted and rewarding. 

How did you get into the InsurTech business? 

I have been in the InsurTech industry since 2013 across a number of different roles. I have provided growth capital to many global InsurTech businesses and partnered with those management teams to establish strong financial, operational, and technological processes in support of growth. I have also been a board member or advisor at several InsurTech businesses and co-founded an InsurTech MGA. 

What are you most excited about for the future of InsurTech? 

It is such an exciting time to be at Vertafore and in the insurance technology space! The P&C insurance market is evolving rapidly as the economy expands and risks change in scale and scope. The independent agent channel remains the cornerstone of P&C insurance distribution, and Vertafore has long been a market leading technology partner supporting agents with modern software tools that maximize their productivity and increase their engagement with customers. I love that Vertafore truly understands that in this complex industry, a strong personal connection is required to complete the vast majority of sales. 

What’s your idea of the perfect weekend? 

We are an on-the-go family and love to spend time together outdoors. My perfect weekend would include a hike and an outdoor picnic enjoyed alongside my husband, kids and extended family. 

I’m coming to visit you! What are your favorite/must-do things in your city? 

We live in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire. Fall is an incredible time to visit—the foliage is stunning, the apple cider donuts are fresh, and maple creamees are readily available!
